The rumours about Karisma Kapoor making a comeback to films have been around forever. Now the latest is that the sassy mother of two, has been offered three films and she is contemplating taking them up.

Lolo seems to be spoilt for choice clearly. While Karisma is contemplating which film to take up, her fans are sincerely hoping that she doesn’t go the Madhuri way. Madhuri Dixit lost out on some interesting projects recently as the actress demanded an exorbitant amount as her fees which ofcourse the producers could not pay.

Aamir to have new girl in ‘Dhoom 3′

Yash Raj Films have announced they will cast a new female lead for 2012 christmas release Dhoom 3. Its not Kareena, Katrina, Priyanka, Deepika, Anushka, Aishwarya or who ever else we were hoping to see in Dhoom 3!

The production house which only signed the top stars has now become a platform even for newcomers to showcase their talent. YRF has launched many new faces like Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra, Shraddha Kapoor, Shazahn Padamsee in recent past too.
The movie has Aamir Khan in lead along with Abhishek and Uday. The film starts shooting end-2011 and is slated for a 2012 Christmas release worldwide.

Big B to play gangster-turned-politician in ‘Department’

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is excited about teaming up with Amitabh Bachchan once again for “Department”, which will see the megastar in an intense role of a gangster-turned-politician.

“Am mighty excited about the role Mr. Bacchan is playing in ‘Department’ … he’s playing a gangster turned politician. Imagine the ‘Agneepath’ character turning over a new leaf and yet to have the same hard intensity and been there done that know how,” Varma posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.
The two have earlier worked together in “Sarkar”, “Sarkar Raj”, “Aag” and “Rann”. “Department” was also supposed to feature Abhishek Bachchan, but he has now been replaced by southern actor Rana Daggubati.
“I highly respect Mr. Bachchan and am highly affectionate towards Abhishek and the reasons for the changes in ‘Department’ are nothing but date issues,” he added.

Shahid refuse to 15 crore offer for private party

 
Shahid Kapoor reportedly turned down a whopping offer of Rs 15 crore from steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal. Mittal had recenlty made the offer to the young Kapoor lad to dance at his wife Usha’s party in London.

A source said, “The Mittals only wanted Shahid as the family is a fan of the ‘Chance Pe Dance’ star. They offered a whopping amount that Kapoor refused without a moment’s hesitation.”
In the past, many famous Bollywood stars refused to shake their legs at a private bash no matter what amount was offered to them.
Further adding, the source said, It’s a known fact that unlike other big stars, Shahid doesn’t dance for private functions.

Malayalma star Prithviraj marries childhood friend Supriya

Upcoming star Prithviraj Monday tied the knot with his childhood journalist friend Supriya Menon at a private function here.

“Just 30 people took part in the marriage ceremony. We decided to have a purely personal affair because in our family there are very aged people and they wanted it to be a solemn function, and hence we decided to make it a very private affair,” Prithivraj’s mother, actress Mallika Sukumaran, told media persons outside a resort, near the bride’s residence here.
Denying it was a secret affair, she said: “They have been childhood friends and we have known each other for a very long time and there was nothing secretive in this.”
Prithviraj’s late father, Sukumaran was also an actor and created a special place for himself in the film industry through his dialogue delivery and subtle acting.
Mallika also told media persons that there would be two receptions – one on Saturday for family, and another the next day for the film fraternity.
Incidentally, Prithviraj had denied rumours and speculations of his impending marriage when he was in Thiruvananthapuram April 1 for a press meet after the release of his period film “Urumi”.
Supriya, who is from Palakkad, is a journalist and worked as a BBC TV correspondent in Mumbai. She would come here once in a while to do special stories. Prithviraj hails from the capital city.
The 28-year-old actor made a successful debut with “Nandanam” and has starred in more than 50 films, including blockbusters like “Swapnakoodu” (2003), “Classmates” (2006), “Thirakkatha” (2008) and “Urumi” (2011).
His notable Tamil films are “Kana Kandaen” (2005) and “Mozhi” (2007).

It’s reported that the actress has given a green light to play a mobster in director Tigmanshu Dhulia’s next ‘Jai Ramji’. However, she has not yet officially signed the project and will do it sometime soon.

Speaking about Preity agreeing to do the film, director Dhulia stated, "Preity Zinta liked the script and has agreed to work in the film. However, I have not yet formally signed her, as she is busy with IPL and is not in Mumbai. The formalities should be completed once she is back in the city.”

Preity to shoot in UP for the gangster movie Tigmanshu Dhulia also revealed that the gangster movie will be shot in Uttar Pradesh and in his movie Preity will be sharing screen space with Arjun Rampal, Irrfan Khan and Randeep Hooda.

"It is a gangster movie, set in eastern UP. Preity will be a part of the gang. The rest of the cast includes, Arjun Rampal, Irrfan Khan and Randeep Hooda. The film is going on floors in July and should be complete by December-January. And we hope to release the film soon after that,” stated Dhulia.

Preity to act with the Deols: After making her debut on television with the TV series 'Guinness World Records’, Preity has gained a lot of attention from filmmakers, and it seems that the actress has also acquired a leading role in Anil Sharma’s 3D action thriller ‘Masters’.

Touted to be a big budgeted project, in this film the actress will be seen sharing frames with Priyanka and the four Deols, namely Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Abhay Deol.

Prithviraj getting married to girlfriend Supriya Menon

If we are to go by the reports, Malayalam actor Prithviraj is tying the knot with his secret girlfriend Supriya Menon, who is a Mumbai-based TV news reporter. According to sources, Prithvi's marriage, which is being held today, 25th April at a resort near Palakkat, will be strictly a private ceremony and only chosen few relatives and friends will be present at this low-key profile wedding event.

It was rumoured earlier that Prithviraj had secretly fallen in love with Supriya Menon and had planned to marry her after the release of his much-expected movie Urumi. But he had denied the reports stating that they were false rumours. Today, he is said to be getting married with the TV reporter-girlfriend.

Madhavan turns cop for Vettai

Madhavan is not an actor who does many films in a year. He acts in one film each in Tamil and Hindi, which gives him an opportunity to choose a right script and work on his role with ease. His role of an old-fashioned NRI in his recent Bollywood movie Tanu Weds Manu, has got him rave reviews. He will also be seen as Aarya's brother in the film.

However, Vettai unit has recently completed the film's first schedule of shooting in Karaikudi. The movie also features Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul in the female lead roles. Amitabh Bachchan To Host KBC 5

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan will host the fifth season of the popular and hit reality game show Kaun Banega Crorepati.

"Preparing now for KBC's next season starting I think in a few months... creative and promo discussions today ... very interesting," Bachchan said on Twitter yesterday.

KBC is an Indian reality game show based on the UK game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

The show first aired in 2000 was hosted by the 68-year-old actor making his maiden appearance on Indian TV.

The game show became a huge rage with Bachchan hosting its first and second seasons. Following this, superstar Shah Rukh Khan was roped in for the third. But Big B returned to anchor the show's fourth season which was aired on Sony Entertainment Television.

Earlier, last year, when the makers of KBC had approached Bachchan for the fifth season, he had asked for the opinion of his fans.

Bollywood, designers mourn Sathya Sai Baba’s death

Bollywood stars, filmmakers and designers joined thousands of devotees in India and abroad in expressing grief at the death of spiritual leader Sathya Sai Baba Sunday.

Sathya Sai Baba died after a prolonged illness in Andhra Pradesh’s Puttaparthi town at the age of 85.
“Sai Baba RIP. My condolences to all his followers,” actor R. Madhavan posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.
Actor Rana Daggubati tweeted: “RIP….Sathya Sai Baba. My condolences to all his followers.”
“Just heard that Baba left his body…my heart bleeds for his followers..my sincere condolences,” director Ram Gopal Varma said.
Director and producer Madhur Bhandarkar’s post read: “Sad to hear about the demise of Sathya Sai Baba. He was an inspiration for many. Such an enlightened soul.”
Delhi-based designer Arpan Vohra said he felt blessed that he had earlier got a chance to go to Puttaparthi and seek Sai Baba’s blessings.
“Jai Satya Sai Baba. God Bless his soul. I had the honour of going to Puttaparthi with my family to seek his blessings and met him. It was great to receive vibhuthi (sacred ashes) from him. He will be remembered for his noble deeds,” he told IANS.
Designer Varija Bajaj said: “May his message live and guide us forever.”
Hyderabad-based designer Abhi Jain said: “I am speechless and don’t know how to react as this news came as a thunderstorm for me.”
Accessory designer Sonal Chavan says she will keep a fast for the whole day as a mark of respect.

Sai Baba, revered by millions in India and abroad, was suffering from multi-organ dysfunction. He breathed his last at 7.40 a.m. Sunday at the Sathya Sai super-speciality hospital in Puttaparthi, where he was admitted March 28 with cardiac problems.
His body will be kept at Prashanti Nilayam – his ashram in Puttaparthi – for two days to enable devotees to have a “last darshan”.

‘Dum Maaro Dum’ mints Rs.6.2 crore on opening day

 
Rohan Sippy’s “Dum Maaro Dum” may have been in the news for the wrong reasons, but the Abhishek Bachchan-starrer amassed Rs.6.2 crore in India on its opening day itself. The director is overjoyed with the response especially since the movie faced competition from the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).

“It’s a very good start! We have got an exceptional response from the south, especially from Hyderabad. And of course metro cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore have given a positive feedback and good footfalls too. I am glad amid Sachin and Dhoni … we have been able to hit one of our own sixes!” Sippy told IANS over phone from Mumbai.
Made at a budget of approximately Rs.20 crore, the film released Friday in 20 countries at 350 international locations and at 1,000 theatres and multiplexes throughout India.
Sippy is confident the movie will bring good returns over the first weekend as it has grossed Rs.11.4 crore across India, US, Britain, UAE and Australia on its opening day itself.
“It is a little early to start predicting figures, but we are sure the movie will get good word of mouth publicity and will continue getting a good audience through Saturday and Sunday. Till then, we are waiting and watching!” he said.
The multi-starrer, which also features Bipasha Basu, Prateik Babbar, Aditya Pancholi and Telugu actor Rana Daggubati, is a thriller which revolves around drugs, sex and violence. The movie garnered a lot of publicity prior to its release, due to objections that it portrays Goa and its people in bad light.
However, neither that, nor the IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore Friday deterred the audience from sampling “Dum Maaro Dum”.
“It was a big match! We heard people still filled in the evening shows and that’s a great feeling in this cricket-crazy nation. The opening day figures are a very encouraging sign that the movie may run not just this weekend… but for two to three weeks more,” said Sippy, son of veteran filmmaker Ramesh Sippy.
Junior Sippy credits Bollywood debutant Rana Daggubati, a known name in Hyderabad, for drawing in audiences in the south.
“Rana has a great fan following in Hyderabad, so a lot of local crowd must have come in to watch his performance and support him. But in places like Bangalore and Chennai, people came in for the style of the film and its presentation,” he said.

Darsheel impresses LA audiences with superhero act in ‘Zokkomon’

 
Darsheel Safary’s superhero act in “Zokkomon” was a big hit at the Indian Film Festival Of Los Angeles, says his co-star Anupam Kher.

Anupam, who also attended the event, has returned to India with interesting stories about the audiences’ response to Darsheel.
“The boy was a unanimous winner. Everyone at the screening in Los Angeles oohed and aahed over his innocence and vulnerability and the confidence with which he held himself in front of the camera. As a superhero, he will be a cult figure among kids,” said Anupam.
Now plans are afoot to release an English-language version of “Zokkomon” for the international market.
“We never expected such a response to Darsheel and the film abroad. The reviews in the US have praised my boy. The producers, Walt Disney, might prepare an international version of ‘Zokkomon’,” said Darsheel’s father Mitesh.
This of course would depend on how the film performs at the Indian box office as the opening has not been too encouraging.
When asked how he feels about his new film, Darsheel said: “It should do well with the blessings of my parents and Aamir uncle (Aamir Khan).”‘
“I was 11 when I did that film. Now I’m 15. I am now a teenager. I’ve changed a lot. When people see me in ‘Zokkomon’, they will forget the boy that I was in ‘Taare Zameen Par’,” he added.

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif has slammed rumours that she approached actor-director Pankaj Kapoor for a role in his directorial debut “Mausam”.

“This is entirely untrue,” Katrina, who is currently working on Zoya Akhtar’s “Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara” and Yash Raj’s “Mere Brother Ki Dulhan”, said in a statement.
Added a source: “The news is utter rubbish. Katrina is in a position to pick and choose roles of her choice. She never lobbied for the role in ‘Mausam’ and such rumours are spread by sources with vested interests.”
“Mausam” stars Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor and is slated to release in July this year.

Anushka Sharma to love Ranbir Kapoor? This will be Ayan Mukerji’s second film with Ranbir, he has previously directed Ranbir in the off-beat coming of age comedy Wake Up Sid. Like the previous outing the next film is to be produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

For a while it was assumed that the female lead would be played by Deepika who is also close friends with Ayan, and was also close to Ranbir, then after their much public break-up, Katrina’s name was floating around as the one likely to play the lead. Now, with things not looking too well between Ranbir and Katrina, it does seem apt to consider another.

There is no confirmation from Ayan or Anushka Sharma about this development, and the producer of the film Karan only confirms that Ayan will finalize the actors once the script is ready. Ranbir and Anushka surely would make for a good on-screen couple.

Sathya Sai Baba's Message and work

Sathya Sai Baba was born in Puttaparthi, a small village in South India, on 23 November 1926. As a child, he demonstrated exemplary qualities of compassion, generosity, and wisdom, which clearly distinguished him from the other children of his village.
On 29 October 1940, at the age of 14, he declared to his family and to the people of his village that he would henceforth by known as Sai Baba and that his mission was to bring about the spiritual regeneration of humanity by demonstrating and teaching the highest principles of truth, righteous conduct, peace, and divine love.
His mission was further amplified in a letter he wrote to his brother in 1947. I have a task, he said, To foster all mankind and ensure for all of them lives full of bliss. I have a vow: To lead all who stray away from the straight path again into goodness and save them. I am attached to a work that I love: To remove the sufferings of the poor and grant them what they lack.
Sai Baba's ashram, built by his devotees close to the village where he was born, was inaugurated on 23 November 1950. It is called Prasanthi Nilayam (the Abode of Divine Peace). It has been the gathering place of millions of spiritual pilgrims of various faiths from all over the world. Every day, Sai Baba graciously walks among them to guide, comfort, console, and uplift them.
The small temple dedicated in 1950 has grown into a spiritual oasis of unprecedented magnitude. The temple and the darshan area in front of it, which is completely covered by a beautiful roof, together encompass an area that is over 10,000 square yards. During the period 14-23 November 1995, the celebrations of the 70th birthday of Sathya Sai Baba took place in Prasanthi Nilayam. More than one million people, including the President and Prime Minister of India, assembled in Prasanthi Nilayam to pay homage to Sathya Sai Baba during the 70th birthday celebrations.
In a discourse on 29 September 1960 (Chapter 31 of Sathya Sai Speaks volume 1), Sathya Sai Baba said this:

I will be in this mortal human form for 59 years more and I shall certainly achieve the purpose of this avatar; do not doubt it. I will take My own time to carry out My Plan so far as you are concerned. I cannot hurry because you are hurrying.
I may sometimes wait until I can achieve ten things at one stroke; just as an engine is not used to haul one coach, but awaits until sufficient haulage in proportion to its capacity is ready. But My Word will never fail; it must happen as I will.

This means that He is expected to leave His body 2019.

Sathya Sai Baba is a highly revered spiritual leader and world teacher, whose life and message are inspiring millions of people throughout the world to turn God-ward and to lead more purposeful and moral lives. Education. Sathya Sai Baba places great importance on proper education for young people. Parents and community leaders are urged to concern themselves with the informal as well as the formal experiences to which their children and young adults are exposed.
He has established a model education system, which includes primary schools, secondary schools, and an accredited university with three campuses, offering undergraduate, Masters, and Ph.D. degrees. No fees are charged to students, and admission is open to all, regardless of race, religion, or economic condition.
In addition to emphasizing the pursuit of academic excellence, Sathya Sai Baba's system of "integral education" is designed to foster self-discipline and pro-social conduct. Students are required to take courses on morality and spirituality and to devote several hours each week to some form of community service. Sathya Sai Baba says that "the end of education is character".
Health care. Sathya Sai Baba has built an ultra-modern 300-bed hospital close to the university and ashram. Highly specialized operations, including open-heart operations and kidney transplants, are performed routinely. There is absolutely no charge to the patient for professional or hospital expenses. Motivated by the desire to serve humanity, doctors, nurses, and workers in the hospital render extraordinary, compassionate, and loving care to all patients.
Service to those in need. Recently, Sathya Sai Baba initiated a project to provide an adequate supply of pure water to 1.5 million inhabitants of the State of Andhra Pradesh (India) who were living in drought conditions. The Prime Minister of India traveled to Prasanthi Nilayam (Sathya Sai Baba's main ashram) in order to inaugurate the project. Sathya Sai Baba demonstrates that it is the duty of society to ensure that all people have access to the basic requirements for the sustenance of human life.

Sathya Sai Baba passes away

Sathya Sai Baba who was in critical condition for last 28 days passed away on April 24, 2011 at 7.40 am. He was admitted in a super-specialty hospital at Prashantigram at Puttaparthi which he himself had created for the common people.  After being on ventilator support for many days with all his vital parameters failing, Sai Baba died of cardio-respiratory failure.

According to an official note, Baba's body will be kept for darshan in Puttaparthi for two days. The note also stated that people shouldn’t rush to the hospital and obtain darshan in a systematic manner. About 4 lakhs followers are expected to make a visit to Puttaparthi for the darshan.  The expected visitors include VVIPs, VIPs and common devotees from across the globe and India. The chief minister and governor of Andhra Pradesh will be the first of the VVIPs to visit the ashram.

Scores of devotees have already started pouring into the small town of Puttaparthi. However, the security is very tight and the area has been sealed off. Since the vehicles aren’t being allowed into the town, devotees would have to walk at least eight kilometres into the town to reach the ashram.

The followers of Sathya Sai Baba, are in a state of grief and shock as they expected him to recover. The devotees were expecting a miracle as Sai Baba is believed to survive two heart attacks, few years back.
