Mallika Sherawat chooses Cannes fest over White House Invitation…

This year, Mallika will once again be seen at the Cannes fest as she hosts a cocktail party to promote her film Politics of Love, Love Barack on Nikki Beach. This will be the actress’s third appearance at Cannes. She first went to Cannes in 2005 to promote her film The Myth with Jackie Chan and then in 2010 to promote Hisss.
Mallika was invited for “An Evening of Poetry” at the White House on May 11. But, coincidently, on the same day the actress has to be in Cannes.

Mallika Sherawat's turn to be contrasted with Kim Kardashian

Mallika Sherawat's turn to be contrasted with Kim Kardashian: Vidya Balan may have been called that in Australia buts its Mallika Sherawat who's getting compared to Kim in the US! We certainly don't think Vidya Balan resembles international socialite Kim Kardashian but if Vidya Balan is to be believed, an Australian guy did think so.

Vidya had revealed that she was mistaken for the most famous Kardashian by the Australian. "I am gay, but you are really hot. By any chance, are you Kim Kardashian?" Vidya quoted the man to say. "I didn't know what to say, so I just smiled," an embarrassed Balan admitted.

After Vidya, its Mallika Sherawat's turn to be compared to Kim Kardashian. After Hollywood celebrity blogger Perez Hilton posted Mallika's picture on his blog saying, "Immersing ourselves more in Bollywood! Catching up with the lovely and gorgeous actress Mallika Sherawat!"

Comments starting to pour in and one of the comments read, "Oh no, Perez, to call her an "actress" is SUCH a stretch of the term, its hardly recognisable. She's the Indian equivalent of Hugh Hefner's playgirls or the Kardashian sisters."

Now we do agree to that to a certain extent don't we? After all she does resemble to the American reality star and socialite in terms of physical appearance and promotional strategies!

Mallika Sherawat act in hollywood flick Love, Barack

Mallika Sherawat act in hollywood flick Love, Barack: As the movie is unlikely to have a theatrical release, it’s possible that it might release directly on DVD, which is said to be a common practice in the West. Directed by William Dear and staring Laz Alonso of Avatar fame, Love, Barack was Mallika’s second international project after Hisss which was a Hollywood-Bollywood collaboration. In Politics of Love Mallika plays a young politico Aretha Gupta who is a democrat and a firm supporter of Obama.

Reports have it that one of the reasons behind the problem is recession-stuck film distribution market in the west. And since the film stars a lesser-known Afro-American actor it becomes harder to get a distributor. It is indeed sad news for Mallika, who’s had her one foot in Hollywood for quite some time. All the PR she did for the last two years seems to have gone in vain. We just hope that the movie doesn’t get stuck in limbo.
