After the success of films like Damini, Ghayal the proverbial ‘dhaai kilo ka haath’ and the latest blockbuster Yamla Pagla Deewana, The actor Sunny Deol will be seen in a completely new avatar in his next film Mohalla Assi.
Director Chandraprakash Dwivedi says, “It is a movie based in a famous and historical Mohalla on the southern end of Banaras and the River bank of Ganga. The movie is a satire and Sunny just seemed like someone that could do justice to the character, as he has proven to play serious roles equally as good as he plays comic roles”.
Sunny Deol plays the lead role in the movie and takes on a very fresh and different character, of an orthodox religious priest (Pundit). Sunny is confident that Mohalla 80 will prove to be a Satyakam for him.
The film is slated for an August 2011 release.
