Actor Ranbir Kapoor was spotted in his Rockstar avatar. The actor will be seen acting in the upcoming Imtiaz Ali film Rockstar, which is inspired by the legendary tragic hero Devdas. Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, the film also stars Nargis Fakhri, Jaideep Ahlawat (Special appearance), Aditi Rao, Piyush Mishra and Shammi Kapoor.
The Mozart of Madras, AR Rahman is composing the music for the film Rockstar. The film is being produced by Dhillin Mehta. Reportedly, director Imtiaz Ali is planning to end the rockstar's life in the film. If this script if followed, then this will be Ranbir's first on-screen death.
Roackstar carries a story of a passionate man's unanswered love. According to the reports in the Mumbai Mirror, Ranbir Kapoor's character falls in love with Nargis Fakhri's character and apparently cannot overcome the obsession. The plot is loosely knitted on Devdas-Paro-Chandramukhi love triangle, where in Ranbir plays the Devdas, Nargis enacts the character if Paro and actress Aditi Rao from Yeh Saali Zindagi fame will be playing the role similar to Chandramukhi's.
Reportedly, the script's climax will see the lead character of the film (Ranbir's character) dying while performing on-stage. However, unlike the original Devdas, Ranbir's character in the film will be very hip and trendy. The rockstar character in the film is apparently both arrogant and sensitive. The rockstar believes that he should fall in love to enhance his musical abilities and emote better.
The problem arises when in the process of using love as an emotion-enhancing device the rockstar actually falls in love and loses everything including his love and career. The film is schedule to hit the screen on 8 July 2011.
