"I am very happy, excited...touched by this gesture of IIFA and TIFF for honouring our father. I thank them for this great celebration they are doing to our father. I believe this retrospective is a great way to honour his memory," Randhir, elder son of Raj Kapoor, told reporters.
Rishi said, "with his passion for cinema that shines through in all his movies he has made a place for himself in the hearts of cinema lovers across India. I thank IIFA and TIFF to show his films...we are proud of his films."
Younger son, Rajiv said, "I had the opportunity to work with him as an assistant director and as an actor. It was a memorable experience. I am humbled."
Also, several pieces of memorabilia from Raj's films like costumes, cut-outs and props used during the films will be displayed at the festival. A series of paintings by Goa-based artist Seema Sardesai will be showcased on the occasion.
